Relieving The Yellowstone

here were five Destroyer Tenders working the Med during the Fifties and Sixties. Here's a picture of two of them. This shot was sent to us by Boyd G Hart, ENC who was aboard the Tidewater for the Med Cruise in 1960-61. Here we see the USS TIdewater and the USS Yellowstone together just before the Yellowstone leaves to make the trip back to its home port in Mayport, Florida.

Note: The other destroyer tenders that worked the Med with us were the USS Sierra AD18 - also out of Norfolk, VA, the USS Shenandoah AD26, and the USS Everglades AD24.
