IN MEMORIUM

Chief Pierson R. Shelton, Jr. passed away on May 6. We send our deepest sympathy to his family. Chief Shelton occupied AD 31 Associaion Membershp No. 0017. which means he was among the first 20 members to join our ranks. His tour in the US Navy included two hitches aboard AD31, coming aboard in July 1951 and departing in February 1954 and then returning in January 1953 for another 4 years. Chief Shelton has contributed several excellent photos of his days aboard the Tide. He was a BT1 in B Division while on AD31 and departed the second time in February 1957, continuing on with his Navy career, eventually advancing to the rate of BRCS and was a LIFE MEMBER of the AD31 Association.
