Cook, ET2 USS Tidewater 1962-1965

arly
evenings are always spectacular on the Atlantic. Here we
see a destroyer in the distance, accompanying us as part
of a 12-ship flotilla back to the US from the 1962/63 Med
Cruise. The Tidewater was just one year out of Portsmouth
Shipyard refurbishing, having acquired her new Distant Airborne
Sonar Helicopter (DASH) hanger on the Fantail. This view
is from the bow of the Tidewater looking west.
