uring his tour of duty on AD31 Larry Salley advanced from EM3 to EM1 and cruised to GITMO, Glasgow Scotland, Bergen Norway and Cherbourg, France. Chief Salley says, "While in Glasgow the USS Coates lost her Gyro and rammed AD31 putting her starboard anchor in the Crew's Mess." Chief Salley departed the Tidewater in January 1953 and is a LIFE MEMBER of the AD31 Association.
