George Lisee (who is one of the crew in this picture - he's one of the white hats up on the 03 deck on the starboard side - sent us this photo taken of the crew of the Tidewater when he was aboard in 1946. The ship was commissioned on February 19 of that year, and, at the time was the largest ship ever built at the Charleston Naval Shipyard.
