USS Tidewater and its customers
Naples, Italy - 1960 Med Cruise

Silhouetted against a late afternoon sky, about this time of day things are winding down as AD31 calls its workday to a close. Tied up alongside are four of AD31's customers all joined together by gangways that Tide sailors use to get from one ship to the other. Tomorrow there are ship's engines that will need overhauling, radar systems that will need to be checked out and parts for hatches and ladders that will need to be fabricated in the mold shop, because we just can't get them any other way.

But first things first - it's 45 minutes to liberty call. The Blue Bird Room is the meeting place. Time to shower and shave and put on a fresh change of skivvies. It's show time!
