Signaling in Naples Harbor

oordinating repair schedules sometimes required communications over short distances. Here is a late afternoon photo of two of the Tidewater crew in Naples harbor, signaling to another ship the schedule for repair work, which would take place later in the week. Operating the light shutter equipment is Bill Blackstock, SM1 and at his right holding the message from R3 Division's electrical repair officer is J. Wright, RD3. Both sailors worked in O Division which included the Communications Spaces, CIC, Navigational and Ship Control Areas.
