The Acclamation
Read by Bill Cook at the meeting of the Steering Committee
on September 27, 2003 aboard the USS Yorktown

As a former Tidewater Sailor, serving aboard AD31 from October 1962 until September 1965 in R4 Division, I hereby acclaim the existence of the USS Tidewater AD31 Association and declare this meeting open for business. My full name is William Donald Cook and I so declare that I am a founding member of the USS Tidewater AD31 Association, having joined on January 1, 2003 and at this date, September 27, 2003, this organization now comprises 85 founding members, those names and resident locations having been listed on the attached roster.

In attendance today are, by this acclamation, members of the Association's Steering Committee. Our meeting will follow the conventions of Roberts' Rules of Order. Our purpose for meeting today is to formulate procedures for holding meetings, reunions, voting, committee chairs and committee memberships, all of which will eventually become part of our by-laws.
