in the series of photos sent in to us by Ron Wyatt which show
what the training facilities at Great Lakes Naval Station looked
like back in the early Sixties. The photo above is of the inside
of the barracks where Ron and his classmates slept and studied.
There was a sort of wooden picnic table in the center of each
wing of the barracks where everybody gathered to compare notes.
Lockers on one side, racks on the other. Muster in the morning;
march to chow; march to class; march to chow again; march to
the barracks. It was home.
