is a shot sent in to us by Life Member James Dewasme who
was aboard the Tidewater in the early Fifties. This photo
was taken as AD31 passed under the Cooper River Bridge in
Charleston, SC after her shakedown cruise prior to being
returned to service in 1952.

This document was sent in to us by former Ltjg Lou Steger
who was aboard for the 1955-56 Med Cruise. This particular
copy of the Plan of the Day tells a little bit about that
cruise and the assignments prior to departure from C &
E Piers in Norfolk.

The section of Norfolk in this photo was a hangout for sailors
on liberty. East Main Street's locker clubs and nightspots
- oh, the memories!
